Welcome to Kiparoo Farm

 

 Home of Beautiful Sheep, Shiny Fleece, and Lustrous Yarns! 

You're welcome to come visit Kiparoo Farm Studio and enjoy our homegrown products of sustainable agriculture on our working sheep and dairy farm in rural Frederick County, Maryland.
Our studio is open to the public on Saturdays from 10am - 5pm.

Kiparoo Farm is a working sheep and dairy farm located in rural Frederick County, Maryland. The mission of Kiparoo Farm is to teach and demonstrate the stewardship of natural and agricultural resources by growing quality sheep and wool in cooperation with Mother Nature.

From our sheep to the shop

Our farm studio is stocked with a fantastic selection of exciting yarns spun from our large flock of beautiful Border Leicester sheep.

Lots of fleecy fibery "funness"

Textured & curly, loops, blends, shiny worsted weight to finely spun yarns
Vat dyed, over dyed, hand painted, dipped and self patterning
gorgeous, jewel toned colourways dyed by the shepherd
Natural colours grown by the sheep: creams, silvers, beige, and purple-blacks.

We carry a large selection of great Kiparoo Farm patterns: Boa's curly, ruffled and looped; Twists and Twirls, Bobbles and Wraps, Long and Lacy, Short and Sassy. High collared and Classy....just to name a few....a pleasing collection of antique buttons and a good selection of needles and crochet tools.

We have a varied assortment of finished products and samples to inspire your creative spirit. So come to a gentle place in time and meet the sheep and shepherds of Kiparoo Farm.
